THE BREEDS

I will not be long in describing these two breeds that I particularly appreciate ; there are many books written by people who have more experience and more culture, about dogs,  than me; I think it would be right to point out what I have red and reread a lot of time, even before to own these two breeds of dogs.

Both the Maremmano-Abruzzese and the Volpino Italiano are pieces of Italian culture: ancient breeds that unfortunately are less appreciated than they deserve, perhaps even for the fault of the institutions and of some breeders  who have not be able to work as it should be done; moreover the silly fashions that affect even the world of dogs.

Both these dogs are rustic, with a very strong character, both good keepers, hard headed, but intelligent.

Their  vitreous hair does not  retain dirty and with a brush and at least  potatoes starch on the vet hair, left to dry, it will be white again, as it should be.

Crucial will be the behaviour of the owner in breeding and teach these dogs, who will be able to give their best only in the hand of people who have the intelligence to understand them. It is true, as many have said “these dogs are not suitable for everyone”, but everyone who is able to understand them will get so much affection in return, not as a servant, but as a true friend.
